Biography: José María Frade estudió Ciencias Biológicas en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en 1989 y obtuvo su doctorado en Ciencias por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid en 1994. Entre los años 1996 y 1998 trabajó en Alemania en el Instituto Max-Planck de Neurobiología. En agosto de 2000, el Dr. Frade obtuvo una plaza de científico titular en el Instituto Cajal, y en julio de 2008 una plaza de investigador científico en este mismo instituto, donde lidera un grupo de investigación. Desde 2016, es también profesor honorario del Departamento de Anatomía, Histología y Neurociencia de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Desde 2017, ostenta el cargo de vicedirector de Investigación Científica y Técnica del Instituto Cajal. |

Abstract:
To commemorate its Centenary in 2020, the Cajal Institute published on social networks a selection of one hundred of the most relevant scientific achievements made by its researchers over the course of this first century of life. These publications would eventually give rise to this work. A volume that brings us closer to the research work on the brain, that fascinating organ that still hides many secrets to be revealed.
