Abstract:
One of the CSIC’s functions is to inform, assist and advise public and private entities on science and technology, as stated in article 5 of its Articles of Association. As part of this function, the CSIC presents the report Volcanic Risk in the Science for Public Policy collection. This report is aimed at public and private entities, as well as society as a whole. It explores key concepts of volcanic risk, analyses its impacts and provides a comprehensive framework for the study and effective management of volcanic risk under CSIC research lines, enabling early preparedness, coordinated response and sustainable recovery from volcanic eruptions. This report aims to provide essential knowledge for informed decision making and to support scientific development along relevant lines by policy makers, and for the benefit of society at large.
