Abstract:

This new volume of Literatura Breve presents materials for the study of La novela sugestiva (The suggestive novel), one of the many short story collections that enriched the Spanish literature of the first half of the twentieth century. This collection published a series of small profusely illustrated works forming part of the genre of erotic fiction. This volume includes the bibliographic records of the forty-two novels that appeared in the collection, with reproductions of some of their covers, and the full text of Rosa de amor y rosa de vicio (rose of love and rose of vice), by Aurelio Garcia Carreras, with illustrations by Mel; Las siete ondinas (The seven nymphs), by Tomás del Vallehermoso, with illustrations by Trece, and Las colegialas (The schoolgirls), by Gustavo Ocejo, with illustrations by Esteban. The volume is completed by an alphabetical index of authors, illustrators and other titles published in the collection.
