Biografía: Katja Šmid is a Tenured Scientist in Sephardic studies at the Jewish and Islamic Studies Department at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and co-editor of the European Journal of Jewish Studies (Brill). Previously, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Salamanca (2013), a Marie Curie fellow at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2014- 2016), and a teaching and research fellow at the Complutense University (2017-18). She is the author of a scientific edition of Eliezer Papo’s late-nineteenth-century Judeo-Spanish rabbinical treatise Mešeq Beti, focusing on the customs relating to Sabbath observance among the Sephardim of Bosnia (CSIC, 2012). Ora (Rodrigue) Schwarzwald (edicion) Filiación: Bar-Ilan University (Ramat Gan, Israel). Biografía: Ora (Rodrigue) Schwarzwald is Professor Emerita at Bar-Ilan University. She taught at the Department of Hebrew and Semitic Languages and at the Salti Institute for Ladino. She was the president of two Israeli linguistic societies and won the Landau Prize in 2015 for studies on Ladino. She edited the Hebrew journal Hebrew Linguistics, co-edited 8 books and The Encyclopedia of Hebrew Language and Linguistics, and edits Ladinar. She published 10 books and many articles. She is a member of the Academy of the Hebrew Language, President of the National Ladino Academy and academic correspondent of the Spanish Royal Academy. Ofra Tirosh-Becker (edicion) Filiación: The Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Jerusalén, Israel). Biografía: Ofra Tirosh-Becker holds the Bialik Chair in Hebrew Language and is a profesor of Hebrew and Judeo-Arabic at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, heading its Center for Jewish Languages and Literatures. She is an executive member of The Academy of the Hebrew Language, the founding co-editor of the Journal of Jewish Languages (Brill), a co-editor of the journal Massorot, and was the Director of the Ben-Zvi Institute for the Study of Jewish Communities in the East. Her books include the award-winning two-volume Rabbinic Excerpts in Medieval Karaite Literature (The Bialik Institute, 2011) and Jewish Languages: Text Specimens, Grammatical, Lexical, and Cultural sketches (with L. Edzard; Harrassowitz Verlag, 2021). |
