Abstract:
After a summary of the main environmental factors —climatology and edaphology—, a critical floristic catalogue was compiled, and the plant communities were described. The presence of 555 Species of cormophyta within the área studied is accepted, whereas the previous records af 500 additional taxa are challenged, for nomenclatural or taxonomic reasons. Among the 44 ñames added to the local floristic catalogue, the following are outstanding: Carex diandra (a new record for the Spanish flora), Euphorbia minuta, Thymus pulegioides subsp. similialpestris, Globularia x fuxensis, Arrhenatherum elatius subsp. sardous and Carex depressa (new records for the whole range), Diphasiastrum alpinum, Silene pusilla, Potentilla nivalis subsp, nivalis, Astragalus danicus, Oxytropis foucaudii, Campanula cantabrica, Hieracium cubillanum and Juncus pyrenaeus, rare plants in the Cantabrian range or endemics whose distribution área is extended eastward. The study of the vegetation has allowed the recognizion of 30 plant communities, subdivided by their floristic composition into several groups and subgroups, related to the main microenvironmental factors.
