Abstract:
This volume aims to bring the work of Christoph Hein, a writer from the former German Democratic Republic, to a wider audience. What is new here is the choice of an author who has been relatively little studied to date and that it analyses his work from a novel philological and socio-literary perspective. The aim is not so much to offer a diachronic panorama of the history of East-German literature, but to analyse one of its most representative authors through three specific plays characterised by a series of common traits and written at a specific historical moment.
