Abstract:

The aim of this Conference is, once again, to make the Institute founded by Eduardo Torroja an international centre of diffusion, reflection and discussion of research and contributions in the field of civil engineering and architectural structures, facing scientific and technological advances that are gradually being reached. The aim is, therefore, to generate necessary dialogue among researchers, professionals, builders, industry and University, sharing experiences and strengthening relationship to face necessary development that society demands in its continuous evolution. The Conference has been organized in four main topics, which cover all key aspects related to Structure of civil and architectural construction. One of these topics is Structural Milestones, which remark achievements made in the advancement of knowledge, from very different perspectives, and that need to be known and recognized, as important turning points in changing culture. These topics are the following: Structural Milestones of Architecture and Engineering throughout History, Structural Design, Structural Analysis, and Construction Techniques and Processes.
