Escenografía de la danza en la Edad de Plata (1916-1936)

Biography: Idoia Murga Castro es doctora en Historia del Arte por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid con Mención de Doctor Europeo y Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado. Entre 2007 y 2011, gracias al programa FPU del Ministerio de Educación, realizó su tesis doctoral en el Instituto de Historia (CCHS, CSIC). Ha desarrollado su investigación en The Courtauld Institute of Art (Londres), Columbia University (Nueva York) y el Centre André Chastel (INHA, CNRS-Paris IV Sorbonne), así como en el Musée d'Orsay (París) y la Peggy Guggenheim Collection (Venecia). Está titulada en danza clásica por la Royal Academy of Dance y la Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing y es miembro del Consejo Internacional de Danza de la Unesco y la Society of Dance History Scholars. Es autora de varios libros y artículos sobre la relación de las artes plásticas y la danza en el siglo xx y ha participado en numerosos encuentros especializados.

Abstract:

The author of this study has researched the work artists dedicated to the scenography of dance during the Spanish "Silver Age" from the time of the arrival of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes up until the outbreak of the Civil War. The work therefore examines artists' careers, collaborations with dancers and intellectuals, the cultural and historical context, and the artistic production of the main protagonists of this fertile epoch.
