Abstract:

The Thesaurus of Geology is the result of a collaboration between the Centre for Scientific Information and Documentation of the Spanish National Research Council (CINDOC-CSIC) and Carlos III University of Madrid. It´s the final research report of the VI Master on Information and Documentation. This thesaurus has been done using the list of terms belonging to the Earth Sciences subheadings of CSIC ICYT database. This database covers from 1979 to now. The purpose of this thesaurus is to structure the terminology used in the geology domain of the database and use it as a tool for control of ICYT vocabulary.
