Abstract:

The genus Leucanthemum Mill, is revised for the área of the Iberian península. In all, 26 taxa in 19 species are recognised and grouped in three discrete sections, one of which is newly described. The infrageneric units are: Sect. 1. Leucanthemum (16 species), Sect. 2. Eunuchoglossum DC. emend. (2 species), Sect. 3. Rhodanthemum Vogt (1 species). On the basis of a detailed morphological study all species are fully described and illustrations of habit and details of the taxa are presented. A key for the determination of all species and subspecies is provided. Complete synonymies are listed, including the typification of the ñames as far as possible. Distribution maps of all taxa studied are given.
